Himeji Castle, a national treasure, became Japan’s first world cultural heritage in December 1993, along with Horyuji Temple in Nara.

It is nicknamed “Shirasagi Castle” because of its graceful appearance as if a white egret spread its wings.

The main castle tower of Himeji Castle that we are seeing now was built in 1609 (Keicho 14).

Himeji Castle is equipped with excellent defense equipment.

Approximately 1,000 shooting windows, called sama, remain on the wall, and the angle between the inside and outside of the opening makes it easier to aim at the enemy and makes it harder for the enemy to aim. Numerous defense mechanisms are hidden in its graceful appearance, such as stone droppings in the gates and walls. Each corridor connecting the large castle tower and the small castle tower is equipped with a sturdy door, and each of the large castle tower and the small castle tower is built to prevent enemies and to be a siege.

By the way, it is a recommended gourmet in Himeji.

How about having your own chopsticks?

, ,

The first is standing-up sushi. It is “Totoro”.

127-1 Minamiekimaecho, Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture

Please enjoy the fresh fish.

The other is the “Station Soba Local Line outbound platform Store” on the Local line outbound platform at Himeji Station.

Whichever you eat, it’s delicious, but I recommend “Toriten Ekisoba”.
